MLB Hits All-Star Break

posted by Bill Strange -

Major League Baseball is at the All-Star break.  The final day of action for the first half of the season concluded on Sunday.  The Home Run Derby is on Monday and the All-Star Game is Tuesday at Marlins Park.  The Dodgers have the best record in MLB at 61-and-29.  The Astros aren't far behind with a 60-and-29 mark, good for the top record in the American League.  The Red Sox and Indians also lead their respective divisions.  Both AL Wild Card teams are from the AL East, the Yankees and the Rays.  The Nationals and Brewers join the Dodgers atop their divisions in the National League.

The defending champion Cubs are two games under .500 and five-and-a-half games behind the Brewers in the NL Central.  The D'backs and Rockies hold the two NL Wild Card spots.  The regular season gets started again on Friday.
