Tropical Storm Isaias is Crawling Through Florida

Advisory Sunday 8.2 at 5 p.m.

Tropical Storm Isaias is crawling through central Florida en-route to the Carolina's Monday and Tuesday. It's expected to travel as far north as New England early next week.

The National Hurricane Center's 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon advisory has Isaias (ees-ah-EE-ahs) with maximum sustained winds of 70 miles per hour and about 65 miles southeast of Cape Canaveral and 410 miles south of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's moving north, northwest at 9 miles per hour.

While not as severe as anticipated, Florida's East Coast may experience heavy rains, gusty winds, flooding, storm surge, and power outages.

CHANGES WITH THIS ADVISORY:

A Storm Surge Warning is in effect from Edisto Beach South Carolina to Cape Fear North Carolina.

A Storm Surge Watch is in effect from Cape Fear to Duck North Carolina, including Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds.

A Hurricane Watch is in effect from South Santee River South Carolina to Surf City North Carolina.

The Tropical Storm Warning has been extended northward to Ocracoke Inlet North Carolina.

The Tropical Storm Watch has been extended northward to Watch Hill Rhode Island, including the Chesapeake Bay, the Tidal Potomac

River, Delaware Bay, Long Island and Long Island Sound.

The Tropical Storm Warning has been discontinued south of Sebastian

Inlet Florida.
