The quarterback competition continues at Carolina--the Gamecocks’ coaching staff still hasn’t named a starter for next week’s season opener against Tennessee. Ryan Hilinski’s battling against Collin Hill, a veteran of new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s system from their days at Colorado State. That gives Hill an edge, which puts pressure on Hilinski to work harder. He says he's spent more time diagramming plays on the wipe boards in the quarterbacks' room, trying to memorize every detail. And Hilinski says the reps he gets in practice are also a huge help. Hilinski started 11 games for Carolina last season. Coach Will Muschamp expects to decide on his starting quarterback in the next few days.
