Baseball legend Alex Rodriguez shared a cryptic post following news of his ex-fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, filing for divorce from husband Ben Affleck.
Rodriguez, 49, shared graphic of a quote that stated, "You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction," on his Instagram story Tuesday (August 20). The three-time American League MVP and Lopez, 55, began dating in 2017 and announced their engagement in March 2019 before issuing a joint public statement confirming their breakup in April 2021.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” they said at the time via Page Six. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and each other’s children.”
Lopez reconnected with Affleck, who she was previously engaged to in 2002, around the time of her split with Rodriguez. The two were again engaged in April 2022 and married in July 2022 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in July 2022, before having a more extravagant wedding at Affleck's Georgia home on August 20, 2022.
Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, exactly two years after her wedding ceremony, listing her official date of separation as April 26, 2024.
