Bryson DeChambeau revealed that Rory McIlroy "wouldn't talk to me" when the two were paired together during final round of the latter's eventual 2025 Masters Tournament victory.

"He wouldn't talk to me," DeChambeau said via ESPN. "He was just like -- just being focused, I guess. It's not me, though."

DeChambeau entered the final round trailing McIlroy by two strokes, tying the eventual champion on the first hole and taking a brief lead after the second before bogeying his next two holes. The LIV Golf star later recorded a double bogey on hole 11 and two more bogeys on holes 12 and 17 to finish tied for fifth.

DeChambeau had previously defeated McIlroy by one stroke to win the 2024 U.S. Open last June. McIlroy, who hadn't won a major since 2014, completed the career Grand Slam with his Masters victory, joining Gene Sarazen (1935), Ben Hogan (1953), Gary Player (1965), Jack Nicklaus (1966) and Tiger Woods (2000) as the only players to have ever accomplished the feat.

The Northern Ireland native defeated Justin Rose, who led through the first two rounds of the four-day tournament, in a sudden death playoff at Augusta National Golf Course. McIlroy finished with a 73 through 18 holes, which included six birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing the round at +1.

McIlroy had previously won the PGA Championship twice in 2012 and 2014, the U.S. Open in 2011 and the Open Championship, in 2014, with his previous best finish at the Masters coming in 2022 when he finished three strokes shy of Scottie Scheffler following a -7 final round.
