Colorado Retiring Shedeur Sander's Number Is Obviously Kowtowing to His Dad

The University of Colorado has announced they will retire Shedeur Sanders' and Travis Henry's jersey numbers during their Spring Game next season and Doug Gottlieb is assuming they are just doing it to keep Deion Sanders happy because neither player has a resume that merits that kind of honor.

Doug Gottlieb: "Colorado is like, 'We were terrible, now we're relevant. All we gotta do is retire Shedeur's number, pay (Deion) $10M, we're going to make a bunch of money elsewhere if we have him? Done! Easy.' Doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Again, same thing with the President...he literally will cut you off and serve you for dinner. He does it to Republicans, Democrats, people of other countries, it doesn't matter. If you don't kiss his butt, if you're not at the table, you're on the menu. And he's not the only one doing it. LeBron's doing it. Deion's doing it. It is definitely a trend. But like, they just got done playing football...they didn't win the Big 12, they didn't play in the Big 12 Championship...that's not exactly the bar of retiring a number immediately after finishing up a playing career."
