One of the toughest men in the wrestling business Harley Race has passed away. Race was battling with lung cancer. He was 76.
Race had a 31 year career in the industry winning championships all over the world. In 1983, Race was a trailblazer headlining the first Starrcade show in Greensboro, North Carolina, by dropping the NWA championship to Ric Flair in a bout that won Match of the Year honors from theObserver andPWI.
The wrestling world is sending its online condolences.
One of my favorite matches involving Race and Hulk Hogan when I was a kid.
