Clemson Softball player earns player of the week honors.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com)– Clemson utility player Marissa Guimbarda has been named the ACC Softball Player of the Week and Virginia Tech’s Keely Rochard has been selected as the Pitcher of the Week.

Guimbarda turned in a strong performance last week to lead Clemson to a 4-1 record, including a series win over Pitt. The junior from Suwanee, Georgia, posted a .615 (8-for-13) batting average, a 1.462 slugging percentage, nine RBIs and three home runs on the week.

Rochard was dominant in the circle for Virginia Tech on the weekend, leading the Hokies to a sweep of in-state rival Virginia and earning her third straight Pitcher of the Week honor. The junior from Williamsburg, Virginia, threw three complete-game shutouts, highlighted by a no-hitter on Sunday. Rochard struck out 28 batters while allowing only four hits, one walk and holding opponents to a .061 batting average on the week.
