It has been a rocky road this offseason for the Houston Texans. They are in a tight spot right now with franchise star QB Deshaun Watson requesting a trade. Watson is reportedly extremely frustrated with the front office and their questionable moves that go back to letting former head coach Bill O’Brien trade star WR DeAndre Hopkins.
According to NBC Sports insider Peter King, his teammates aren’t upset with him as many of them are telling him it is perfectly fine for him to want out.
“It’s gotten to the point where, I’m told, even some respected veterans on the teams have, in effect, told Watson, Go ahead. Go. We love you. We don’t want you to get trapped here. You don’t owe us anything.”
The report goes on to say that the Texans locker room was reportedly “turned off” by the franchise’s decision to not interview Robert Saleh as a head coaching candidate. Last week, the team announced the hiring of Ravens wide receivers coach David Culley as the new head coach. The following day, the news came down that Watson had demanded a trade.
